TV NOW Troubleshooting Blank Screen/No Picture (Amino Amigo)

If you're experiencing a blank screen or no picture while using the Nex-Tech TV Now app, follow these troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

1. Wake the Device

Make sure your streaming device or TV isn’t in standby or screensaver mode by pressing any button on the remote control.

2. Power Cycle the Amino Amigo

  • Unplug the device from the power source.
  • Wait 10-20 seconds before reconnecting the power cable.
  • Wait for the device to boot back up.

3. Check Your TV and Input Settings

  • Ensure TV is powered on: Confirm your TV is on and displaying the correct HDMI input where your Amino Amigo is connected.
  • Check HDMI Cable Connection: Ensure the HDMI cable is securely connected to both the streaming device and the TV. Try unplugging and reconnecting it to make sure the connection is tight.
  • Try a Different HDMI Port: If available, switch the HDMI port on your TV to rule out a potential issue with the current port.

4. Check for Updates

  • Open the App Store or Google Play Store on the Amino Amigo.
  • Search for the Nex-Tech TV Now app and check if an update is available.
  • If an update is available, download and install it, then restart the app and see if the issue is resolved.

5. Clear Cache and Data for the Nex-Tech TV Now App

  • From the Settings menu, go to Applications > Manage Applications.
  • Select Nex-Tech TV Now.
  • Choose Clear Cache and Clear Data.
  • Restart the app and check if the blank screen issue is resolved.

NOTE: THIS WILL REQUIRE YOU TO LOG BACK IN WITH YOUR USERNAME AND PASSWORD.

6. Reinstall the Nex-Tech TV Now App

  • Navigate to the Settings or Applications menu on your Amino Amigo.
  • Select the Nex-Tech TV Now app and uninstall it.
  • After uninstalling, return to the app store, search for the Nex-Tech TV Now app, and reinstall it.

7. Check for Software Updates

  • From the Settings menu, go to System > Software Update.
  • If an update is available for the device, follow the on-screen instructions to install the latest version.
  • After updating, restart your Amino Amigo device and check if the issue is fixed.
